Shasta Lake National Recreation Area Prescribed Burn Notice December 6, 2024
The Shasta-Trinity National Forest will conduct the Northwoods Prescribed Burn (1,065 acres) near Shasta Marina at Packer’s Bay during December 8-14, 2024. Ignitions may take up to three days.
The USFS is asking the public to be aware of the smoke impacts near the Packers bay area and to avoid using the at Waterman’s gulch, and Fisherman’s loop trail systems.
Closures/Impacts:
- Waterman’s Gulch and Fisherman’s Loop trails closed
- Smoke visible from Shasta Lake’s western portion, I-5 near Pit River Bridge, Centimudi boat ramp, Shasta Dam, Shasta Lake City, and western Redding
Please avoid affected trail systems during the burn period.
