The Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office reported 57 bookings between Jan. 12 and Jan. 20, 2026. Notable arrests included a Weed man facing conspiracy, money laundering (18 counts), and marijuana transportation charges with a $1 million bail following a bail forfeiture; a Weed woman arrested twice in three days on charges including assault with a deadly weapon, exhibiting a firearm in the presence of a peace officer, and making criminal threats; and a Dorris man arrested on a felony charge of causing injury to an elder or dependent adult. DUI arrests remained prevalent countywide. One individual, a Montague man, set a record of sorts with 16 separate failure to appear warrants on a single booking, some dating back to 2015. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
ANDERSON, Dustin W., 37, of Montague, was arrested by Yreka Police Department on Jan. 17 at 12:19 a.m. on Fairlane on a warrant. The Yreka native faces a felony bench warrant for failure to appear on a felony charge (PC 978.5). Bail was set at $20,000 with a court date of Jan. 20 at 3:00 p.m.
BALLARD, John D., 29, of Grants Pass, Oregon, was arrested by the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office on Jan. 16 at 5:10 p.m. on Main Street south of Greenhorn on warrants. The Conroe, Texas native faces three charges: felony PRCS violation (PC 3455(A)) with no bail on a multi-case probation violation warrant; and two counts of felony probation violation (PC 1203.2(A)) with bail amounts of $20,000 and $30,000 respectively. Ballard was released Jan. 17 with a court date of Jan. 20 at 3:00 p.m.
BARRIOS, Johnny A., 59, of Dorris, was arrested by the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office on Jan. 19 at 5:28 p.m. on N. Oregon Street on a warrant. The Torrance native faces four charges: felony theft from an elder or dependent adult over $950 by false pretenses (PC 368(D)(1)) with $20,000 bail; misdemeanor contracting without a license (BP 7028(A)(1)); misdemeanor contractor requiring excess downpayment (BP 7159(D)); and misdemeanor failure to secure payment of compensation (LC 3700.5). His court date is Jan. 21 at 3:00 p.m.
BENTLEY, Jameson W., 38, of Walnut Creek, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol – Yreka on Jan. 19 at 10:44 a.m. on northbound I-5 on fresh charges. He faces misdemeanor DUI alcohol (VC 23152(A)) and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance (HS 11377(A)). Bentley was released the same day with a court date of March 3 at 1:00 p.m.
BOYER, Jody V., 60, of Yreka, was arrested by Yreka Police Department on Jan. 19 at 5:54 p.m. at the 200 block of E. Oberlin on fresh charges. He faces misdemeanor failure to register as a sex offender upon gaining or leaving residence (PC 290.011(B)). Boyer was released the same day with a court date of March 3 at 1:00 p.m.
BRENDEL, Alex J., 62, was arrested by the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office on Jan. 14 at 7:49 p.m. on River Ave. on fresh charges. ZAVALA-SERRANO, Martin A., 32, of Klamath Falls, was arrested by the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office on Jan. 14 at 1:29 p.m. on a warrant. The Mexico native faces felony inflicting corporal injury on a spouse/cohabitant/dating partner (PC 273.5(A)) with $50,000 bail on a Siskiyou Superior Court warrant. Zavala-Serrano was released Jan. 16 with a court date of Jan. 16 at 3:00 p.m.
All individuals listed are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
