  • Mount Shasta City
  • Dunsmuir
  • McCloud
  • Tennant
  • Western Siskiyou County
  • Sawyers Bar Road west of Etna
  • Highway 3 near Callahan to Scott Mountain summit
  • Major Roads Affected: Interstate 5 (Black Butte summit southward), Highway 89

EXPECTED CONDITIONS:

  • Snow Accumulation:
  • 6-12 inches general accumulation
  • Up to 18 inches above 4500 feet
  • 4-12 inches above 3000 feet in western areas
  • Wind: Gusts up to 55 mph
  • Snow Levels:
  • Starting at 2000 feet
  • Rising to 4000 feet Thursday afternoon
  • Lower elevations: Snow transitioning to rain

IMPACTS:

  • Hazardous to impossible travel conditions
  • Major impacts to Thursday morning and evening commutes
  • Potential tree and power line damage due to strong winds

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS:
