The Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office processed the following bookings during the week of October 28 to November 4, according to official jail records.
Violent and Serious Felony Charges
Aaron Stark, 21, transient in Yreka, was arrested by Yreka Police Department on November 1 at 1:18 a.m. at 905 W. Miner Street. Stark faces felony charges of oral copulation by force and child molestation with unlawful entry. He is held on $55,000 bail with a court appearance scheduled for November 4 at 3:00 p.m.
Michael May, 34, transient in Yreka, was booked October 28 on felony charges of animal cruelty and elder abuse. Additional charges include violation of parole. May is being held without bail after being declared incompetent under PC 1368, with a court date set for December 17 at 8:30 a.m.
Aaron Hatch, 44, of Dunsmuir, was arrested October 30 at 9:08 p.m. at 4148 Siskiyou Avenue for assault with a deadly weapon not involving a firearm. Initially held on $25,000 bail, the District Attorney’s office declined to file charges.
Joseph Leary, 40, of Klamath Falls, Oregon, was booked October 28 at 10:40 a.m. on felony charges including grand theft of a firearm, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and prohibited person in possession of ammunition. He is being held without bail with a court date of November 12.
Property Crimes
Kevin Bowen, 56, and Carmen Harris, 40, both transient in Dunsmuir, were arrested October 30 at 12:38 p.m. at 700 Crag View Drive. Both face felony charges of second-degree burglary and vandalism. Additional charges for Bowen include possession of drug paraphernalia, being a prohibited person in possession of ammunition, and probation violation. Harris faces additional charges of controlled substance and drug paraphernalia possession. Bowen has a non-extraditable warrant from Port Orchard, Washington.
Blase Cole, transient in Yreka, was booked November 1 at 4:32 p.m. at Mercy Medical Center for trespassing. He received additional charges of felony vandalism ($400 or more) with $20,000 bail.
Task Force Operations
A coordinated operation on October 28 at 9:15 a.m. at 9195 Scarface Road in Fort Jones resulted in three arrests:
- Ryan Mortier, 53, of Fort Jones
- Janet Mortier, 39, of Fort Jones
- Brian Hittson, 41, of Fort Jones
All three were charged with cultivation of marijuana (over 6 plants) and possession of marijuana for sale. Initial conspiracy charges against Brian Hittson, Ryan and Janet Mortier were later dropped.
Drug Possession Arrests
Jason Hanna, 32, transient in Yreka, was arrested October 28 at 11:09 p.m. at Walmart for possession of a narcotic controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Multiple felony failure to appear warrants were noted, and he is held without bail.
Dean Huntington, 44, of Modesto, was arrested October 30 at 11:41 a.m. on northbound I-5 at the Shasta River. Charges include driving under the influence of drugs, possession of narcotic controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Court date set for December 10.
Caiyin He, 36, of El Monte, was arrested November 3 at 12:01 a.m. at Main Street and Moonlit Oaks for possession of controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
Reuben Sanchez, 43, of Grenada, was arrested November 2 at 9:35 p.m. at 271 Oregon Street for possession of narcotic controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
Driving Under the Influence
Brenda Aubrey, 30, of Happy Camp, was arrested October 29 at 12:38 p.m. on SR-96 at Doolittle by CHP. Charges include DUI alcohol and DUI with blood alcohol over 0.08%. She also faced two failure to appear charges. Court date set for December 31.
Bobby Southard, 41, of Dunsmuir, was arrested October 28 at 11:02 p.m. near the 800-foot bridge on Dunsmuir Avenue. Charged with DUI alcohol and DUI with blood alcohol over 0.08%.
Ulysses Carrillos, 18, of Lincoln, was arrested November 1 at 11:27 p.m. on northbound I-5 south of Grass Lake Interstate Drive. Charges include DUI alcohol, DUI with blood alcohol over 0.08%, and driving without a license.
Jedidiah Drew, 24, of Redding, was booked November 2 at 1:46 a.m. at Mount Shasta Boulevard and Church Street for DUI alcohol and DUI with blood alcohol over 0.08%. Bail set at $2,000.
William Jackson, 61, of Shingletown, was arrested November 1 at 1:18 p.m. at Dunsmuir Avenue and I-5 for driving under the influence of drugs. Released with a court date of January 7, 2025.
Disorderly Conduct/Public Intoxication
James Benton, 44, of Klamath River, was arrested October 31 at 5:34 p.m. at 643 Lane Street for disorderly conduct involving intoxication from drugs and alcohol.
David Caulder, 38, of Fort Jones, was booked October 29 at midnight at 409 Allen Street for public intoxication and resisting/obstructing a peace officer.
Roberto Jimenez, 59, of Yreka, was arrested October 28 at 10:42 a.m. at Rain Rock Casino for disorderly conduct involving intoxication from drugs and alcohol.
Barbara Palmer, 42, transient in Yreka, was arrested November 2 at 2:57 p.m. at 1878 Fort Jones Road for alcohol-related disorderly conduct. Court date set for December 17.
Bryttani Holleman, 32, of Gazelle:
- First arrest: October 28 at 10:04 p.m. at McDonald’s in Yreka for alcohol-related disorderly conduct
- Second arrest: November 3 at 9:30 p.m. at Baymont Inn for trespassing/obstructing business operations
Parole and Probation Violations
Jacob Gordon, 37, of Mt. Shasta, was arrested November 3 at 8:44 a.m. at 323 Gateway for felony parole violation. Court date set for November 5.
Ryan Poling, 47, transient in Mt. Shasta, was booked November 2 at 4:17 p.m. at 160 Morgan Way for parole violation. Released with a court date of December 11.
Stanley Mallatt, 40, transient in Yreka, was arrested November 1 at 8:21 a.m. near Fairlane Road and Credit Union for parole violation. Released after parole hold was dropped.
Resistance/Obstruction
Lukas McNee, 30, transient in Yreka, was arrested November 3 at 2:05 p.m. at 2725 Yreka-Ager Road for resisting/obstructing a peace officer. Court date set for December 17.
Traffic Violations
Anthony Walzer-Smith, 34, of Yreka, was arrested November 3 at 9:00 p.m. in the 600 block of W. Miner Street for driving with suspended/revoked privileges.
Additional Warrant Arrests
Andrea Ashby, 43, transient in Yreka, was arrested October 29 at 8:09 a.m. on two failure to appear warrants with bail set at $5,000 each.
Cassandra Hansen, 34, of Yreka, was arrested November 2 at 9:35 p.m. on two failure to appear warrants. Released with a December 17 court date.
William Martin III, 55, of Fair Oaks, was booked October 29 at 1:45 p.m. on a failure to appear warrant with $1,000 bail.
All arrests were made by various agencies including the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office, Yreka Police Department (YPD), Mount Shasta Police Department (MSPD), Weed Police Department (WPD), and California Highway Patrol (CHP). Law enforcement officials note that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
