Nathan Scott Huffman, 59, of Fort Jones, passed away unexpectedly on October 16, 2024. Scott was born on July 10, 1965 in Yreka to his parents, Orville and Ruth Huffman of Fort Jones. 

Scott lived in Fort Jones for most of his life, only leaving for a short time when he enlisted in the Army after High School. He was honorably discharged due to a medical condition. Scott was also trained as an auto mechanic and was very handy at many things. 

Scott was known for his warmth, humor, and unwavering support to his family. Scott was employed at Carl’s Junior at the time of his passing. He loved his job and the many friends he had there. 

Scott was preceded in death by his father, Orville Huffman, sister Candy, brother Philip and grandparents, Philip and Ellen Mallow and Norman and Ellen Huffman. 

Scott is survived by his mother, Ruth; his brothers, James and Steve (Kathy); sisters Penny (Loren) Wendy and Beth (Robert).

Scott loved the NFL Raiders, working in the yard, spending time on the computer, watching movies, feeding the birds that gathered at the house, collecting coins and spending time with his family. 

A memorial service will be announced at a later date so that all family members can be present. 

Scott will be missed so very much by his family and his friends but Scott’s spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
