Judith Ann Redd (Pass), 86, of Mount Shasta, California, passed away suddenly on May 27, 2026. GMA “J,” as she was affectionately known, was born on November 20, 1939, in Columbus, Ohio.
Judy graduated from Columbus School for Girls, a private college-preparatory school, and later earned a degree in Theatre Production from the University of Miami.
As time went on, Judy became the mother of three beautiful children, raising them as a single parent while working two jobs. She built a career as an insurance claims investigator and was deeply committed to her work. In retirement, she devoted herself to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Judy was a proud grandmother and great-grandmother who cherished time spent with family and friends.
A devoted Buckeye football fan, Judy faithfully cheered for her team each season. She was an avid reader of crime novels and culinary murder mysteries and enjoyed classical music, attending performances of The Nutcracker ballet, and Shakespeare in the Park productions.
In her younger years, Judy volunteered with Picnic with the Pops and remained engaged in civic life by following politics and working at election polls. She was passionate about her involvement with Eskaton Washington Manor, serving as both President and Vice President of the residents’ association. Above all, she loved gardening, which brought her immense joy. As she recently said, “I am the happiest in my garden.”
Judy is survived by her loving children, Tina-Marie Pagan (husband William Pagan), Joseph Deliz, and Stacey Hanna (husband Craig Hanna); her cousin, Bruce Bowers (wife Annie Bowers); eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Moehler and Phyllis Pass; her uncle, Donald Bowers Sr.; her aunt, Helen Bowers; and their children, Donald Bowers Jr. and Patricia Bowers.
A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 507 Pine Street, Mount Shasta, California 96067, on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., with a reception to follow in the Parish Hall.
