“Approaching Solutions for Sustainable Workforce Housing in Siskiyou County”
1124 Pine Grove Ave Mt. Shasta in the JCA Theater: 2nd Public Meeting
Siskiyou Housing Alliance
PLEASE COME TO THE NEXT COMMUNITY MEETING ON MAY 30, 6pm.
We know it’s been a while since we have met in person in support of a Mt. Shasta Tiny House community. While we have not had any public meetings for a couple of months, the Organizing Committee has been meeting on a somewhat regular basis. Currently our Organizing Committee is made up of a small group of folks who are passionate about helping to create a Mt Shasta eco-village of some kind and solutions to the need for housing for our local workforce. We have been studying Community Land Trusts as a possible solution to acquiring land for creative housing options. It was determined that we need to create a 501c3 in order to have the kind of legal organization that will be necessary to lobby for a Community Land Trust and then to build a Tiny House community.
At the last few meetings, the Organizing Committee determined it was probably best to call ourselves the Siskiyou Housing Alliance, giving our current and greater goals a name as a way of building a wider coalition and increasing support within our communities for a housing alliance to establish and raise funds for a 501c3 and a Community Land Trust.
Our goals for this upcoming general community meeting on May 30th at 6pm at the Jefferson Center For The Arts (JCA) 1124 Pine Grove Dr. Mount Shasta:
- Build support for Siskiyou Housing Alliance within the community and beyond.
- Support in finding donors/funding for this cause.
- Create goals for what the non profit’s focus will be. Which will enable us to lobby for Tiny Houses and Tiny House communties.
- Encourage community members to join as committee members.
If you would like to take part in this exciting and caring community of roll- up- their- sleeves committee members please join us!
