*Every 10 years, after the Federal Government publishes updated census information, California must redraw the boundaries of its Congressional, Senate, Assembly and Board of Equalization districts. This is known as redistricting. The new odd-numbered districts will not go into effect until the 2024 election cycle. These unique circumstances create some areas of overlap between the old and new districts (“accelerated areas”) and some areas without coverage (“deferred areas”). Residents in the counties of Butte, Colusa, Glenn and Tehama counties are in the deferred area and are now represented by Senator Brian Dahle. This new district office has opened to assist constituents in the region.
