20 Feb 1947 – 09 Jun 2023
Kathleen “Suzy” Timmons Jones passed away June 9, 2023. She was our inspiration. Her independent, hard working, caring, no nonsense leadership is something we all are going to miss.
Suzy was born February 20, 1947. She worked as a teacher’s aide in Etna Elementary kindergarten for many years. She started many Scott Valley students on their road to reading. Throughout her life, supporting our youth was one of her biggest passions. Sports were important to Suzy. She played softball until she couldn’t, coached many Ponytail teams and you could see her at most EHS basketball games.
Suzy lived her life on the same ranch she was born on. She inherited her love of cows and livestock from her father, Jack Timmons. To her technology-efficient family’s dismay, she kept many of “old-time” techniques alive in the modern world. Some of her happiest times were riding through the meadow, checking her cows.
Suzy’s ability to be a true friend is a gift that can’t easily be found. She was a role model to so many of us. That is her true legacy.
She leaves her son, Clint (Victoria) Jones & granddaughters, Makina and Madison Jones; daughter, Cori Krueger & grandchildren, J. T. Murray, Bo (Emilio) Shade, Race and Zane Krueger; and great-grandaughter, Emery Shade; and a sister, Tery (Wayne) Drager.
“If you know Mom, you know she is having a fit about all this.”
To honor Suzy’s wishes, we are holding a family burial at the Callahan Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite youth organization in Suzy’s name.
