Kim Joseph Baldi passed away peacefully on May 7, 2025 at home in Mount Shasta, California at the age of 62. Though he beat cancer; he unfortunately succumbed to kidney failure after a courageous battle over the past 3.5 years. Known for his unwavering integrity, hilarious wit, and generosity of spirit, Kim had a remarkable ability to bring joy to everyone he encountered. Leaving behind a legacy of strength, compassion, and selflessness.
Born in Mount Shasta on May 30, 1962, Kim had a joyful and adventurous childhood. He loved his time in the Cub Scouts, skateboarding, playing baseball, camping, hunting and fishing with his grandpa, and spending time with his brothers when he was younger. Kim was always getting into mischief and trying to stay under the radar from his Pop who was the Mount Shasta Chief of Police.
Kim dedicated 30 years to a career with the California Highway Patrol, joining in March of 1986. He began with an assignment in the Garberville Area, then proceeded to work in the Clear Lake Area, Northern Division Office, and Redding Office before finishing out his career in his hometown of Mount Shasta. He retired in December 2015 as a respected Officer. Over the course of his career Kim served on the drug task force, taught numerous courses and safety programs, and was especially passionate about the โEvery 15 Minutesโ program with Mt. Shasta High School. Kim earned the deep respect of his colleagues and the gratitude of the communities he served through his steadfast dedication to justice and duty.
Kimโs devotion to public service extended beyond his career into his community and faith as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS). Kim loved coaching his kids and numerous teams of all ages; everything from basketball, t-ball, baseball, softball, and wrestling. Always leading with enthusiasm, mentorship, and encouragement to teach skills and life lessons as part of the fun spirited athleticism he brought to each sport. Kim also served as president of the Mount Shasta Booster Club, championing causes that supported local youth and families. Kim found fulfillment and enjoyment in his various callings at his Church, everything from teaching the youth to serving his fellow members from Redding to Mount Shasta. He also loved to attend the LDS Temple with his wife Annarae all around the United States.
Beyond helping others, Kim cherished the life he lived. He loved to travel with Annarae; some of his favorite trips were to Hawaii, cruises around the Caribbean and Mediterranean, and Spring Training baseball in Arizona. Kim was a loyal fan of the New York Yankees, Alabama Crimson Tide, and Las Vegas (Oakland) Raiders. He was also an avid bird hunter who thrived being in the woods. Spending many early autumn mornings pheasant, dove, and pigeon hunting with his dad, Michael, and any other family members who would join. But, most of all Kim adored his children and grandchildren.
Kim is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Annarae Baldi; his children: Michael Baldi, Elise Baldi (Kevin), Mitch Heath (Kayla), Etika Lamb (Jordan); and his grandchildren: Aubrey Heath, Jona and Max Baldi, and Kellin Lamb. As well as his mother, Nadine Scott; stepmother, Jeannie Baldi; and brothers: Keith Hudson (Shannon), David Marske, Mark Baldi, and Doug Marske. He is preceded in death by his father, Lou Baldi.
Though his time with us was far too short, the love and care Kim had for his family and friends will never be forgotten. Kim is a cherished husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother whose impact will live on in the stories, values, and memories he left behind.
