CALFIRE SISKIYOU UNIT HAND CREW SELECTED FOR BLUE RIBBON AWARD

YREKA โ€“ The Blue Ribbon Award was created by the Western Fairs Association, the premier organization dedicated to supporting and promoting the fair industry in the Western United States and Canada, to honor those that go above and beyond to support their annual fair.  The 10th District Agricultural Association Board of Directors, as a member of the Western Fairs Association, is excited to announce that for 2026, they have selected the CalFire Siskiyou Unit Hand Crew that has been stationed at the Siskiyou Golden Fairground since it was formed in 2020. โ€œThe Siskiyou Hand Crew spends countless hours protecting our communities but while on site at the fairground, complete many projects that allow us to maintain our facilityโ€ stated Cliff Munson, CEO, โ€œThe hours of dedicated service to our community, our facility and our patrons make them an excellent choice for the prestigious WFA Blue Ribbon Award.โ€  โ€œFairgrounds are important year-round as community resiliency centers for natural disasters and community gatherings and it has been a pleasure to work with CalFire for the past 6 years on a year-round basis and as a support facility for 19 fire camps in the last 16 years.

2026 is the 250th Anniversary of America and the 175th Anniversary for the State of California. Lets Celebrate together at the opening ceremonies on June 24, 2026 at the Siskiyou Golden Fairground flag pole at 5:00 PM as we  honor our Nation, our State and the Cal Fire Siskiyou Unit Hand Crew.
