Bee Rally offers introduction to responsible management and care of bee populations and their habitats to ensure their health and sustainability by attending this FREE beekeeping class Feb. 3 in Yreka
The SisQ Bee Club is hosting a Bee Rally on Tuesday, February 3, for anyone curious about becoming a beekeeper.
The free event runs from 6-8 pm at the Yreka Union School District Board Room, 309 Jackson St. in Yreka.
Club members will answer common questions from newcomers: Is beekeeping difficult? What does it cost? How much time does it take? Where do you put the hives? What are the pros and cons?
The evening will include testimonials from experienced beekeepers, advice on setting up and managing an apiary, and plenty of time for questions.
First-time beekeepers may be eligible for the club’s New Beekeepers Fund, which provides a starter hive valued at $165. Applications and criteria are available from any board member.

The SisQ Bee Club meets on the first Tuesday of each month from 6-8 pm at the Yreka Union School District Board Room. Membership is $20 per household. Board meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at the Siskiyou County Department of Agriculture, 525 North Foothill Dr. in Yreka.
The club has several other events planned for 2026, including online presentations by popular beekeeping YouTubers Bob Binnie in February and David Burns in March, and Bee Day in April featuring a smoker contest, potluck lunch, equipment sale, and hive raffle.
