On November 21, 2025, the House of Representatives, with 199 Republicans and 86 Democrats voting yes, passed Concurrent Resolution 58 (H.Con.Res. 58) that describes socialist ideology as a concentration of government power leading to dictatorships.
This resolution concluded with the following: โWhereas the United States was founded on the belief in the sanctity of the individual, to which socialism is fundamentally and necessarily opposed. Now, be it that Congress denounces socialism in all its forms, and opposes the implementation of socialist policies in the United States.โ
These 285 representatives are telling us all forms of socialism are bad because they weaken the sanctity of the individual. Our representative, Doug LaMalfa, voted in favor of this resolution because he doesnโt believe in social programs. He believes that a personโs economic standing is totally up to the individualโs motivation.
Republican politicians believe this resolution justifies their desires to lower or end government funding of our current socialistic programs, such as healthcare (Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP), food assistance (SNAP, WIC), income support (Social Security, SSI), andeducation (public schools, Head Start) to name a few.
Jesusโs teachings (such as Matthew Ch 5-7) introduced us to socialism that focused on the wellbeing of the community rather than individual self-interests. Doug LaMalfa calls himself a Christian but his beliefs and voting record have shown us that he does not follow Jesusโs teachings.
A true follower of Jesus would love your neighbor as yourself, extending this love to enemies, the marginalized and immigrants; support paying taxes as necessary for helping the poor, needy, and outcast; show mercy, and serve others humbly; and be generous by sharing your resources and prioritize the well-being of other people over personal gain. This is socialism.
This Resolution tells us that those supporting it are denouncing Jesusโs teachings as evil.

I am old enough to remember when families and neighbors were the backbone of social support.
Taxation without the vote of the taxpayer is what has given the United States Federal government and States massive debt. Jesus only fed the masses once as a example for each individual to contribute to helping their neighbors not the government. When snap was held up because the Democratic machine is imposed to reducing the size of government there was a rise in awareness of local churches and food banks that have always worked to provide for their communities. In closing when I was a young man I lived at a number of communes and none of them let you stay without working with the community to maintain the process of food clothing and shelters ๐ฏ
So call your families and friends and ask them if they are in need let them know you’re available Thanks for letting me express my thoughts Chris Johnson here
