McCloud Community Resource Center held an open house on Giving Tuesday to show its support for the community and also to educate and draw more people in the community to see what the Resource Center has to offer.

There are about 32 local businesses that have partnered with the Resource Center, which is located in the Brown Dog building at 304 Main Street in McCloud. They are part of the Siskiyou County Resource Collaboration along with Mount Shasta, Dunsmuir, Montague, Yreka, Scott Valley, and Weed Resource Centers.
Resources, services and programs offered include a food pantry, family support, application assistance, parenting workshops, cooking classes, children’s playgroups, reading programs, family activities, child abuse prevention, senior activities and services, youth sports and activities, alcohol and drug relapse prevention, health and nutrition classes and promotion, mental health outreach and prevention, budgeting, tax preparation assistance, resource and referral, and volunteer opportunities. They currently have about 50 volunteers.
Sitting at the dessert table, greeting people at the entrance, board member, Susie Robinson, says, “The McCloud Community Resource Center covers so many needs of the community. I feel, with Giving Tuesday, it’s a great time to support our community by keeping it local and meeting the needs of our families and neighbors.”
McCloud Community Resource Center’s hours are Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, call (530) 853-1528.
