The California Advisory Committee on Salmon and Steelhead Trout (CACSST) will hold its quarterly meeting on December 4, 2025. The meeting will be conducted entirely by webinar/teleconference pursuant to California Government Code Sections 11123 and 11123.5. There will be no in-person public meeting location.

Agenda Highlights
The meeting will feature presentations on several significant topics affecting California’s salmon and steelhead populations:
1:45 – 2:45pm: Trinity River Federal ESA Reconsultation Process — K. Haitt from the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation will discuss the federal Endangered Species Act reconsultation process for the Trinity River.
2:45 – 3:15pm: CalTrout’s “State of Our Salmonids III” — D. Mierau (CACSST Chair) and P. Samuel from California Trout will provide an overview of the forthcoming species status reviews.
3:15 – 3:45pm: Pacific Fisheries Management Council Update — A status update on the PFMC salmon fisheries process and timeline.
The committee will also review the California Salmonid Monitoring Program, Fisheries Restoration Grant Program Peer Review Committee updates, and previous action items.
Public Comment
Public comment periods are scheduled at the beginning and end of the meeting. Comments are typically limited to three minutes and may be limited at the discretion of the Chair. Additional comment opportunities may be provided at the end of discussion topics.
The committee will also confirm 2026 meeting dates for March, June, September, and December.
