June 25, 1955 – Aug 28, 2025
Tom Neal left this earth unexpectedly on August 28th, 2025. He was born on June 25th, 1955 in Lincoln Nebraska to Joan Marie Neal and Harry Clayton Neal. He came to Mount Shasta during the epic blizzard of 1968, and remained in the area for the rest of his life.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Denise, 2 daughters Emily Kate and Melissa Jo and 3 grandchildren, Katelyn, McKenzie and Maze. He also leaves his siblings, Randy and Joyce Yates, Lynne Chambers, Lisa and Fred Yates Callison, Julie and Scott Selleck, and Ann Neal and Aaron Levi, Aunt Donna Neal, as well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Tom took great pride in his many jobs over the years, developing a strong work ethic that stayed with him throughout his life. He was happiest when he was running heavy equipment, driving trucks or running his chainsaw.. Plowing snow was his joy, going above and beyond what was necessary. Tom loved his family and friends, and left us with countless stories, songs and Dad jokes.
Tom was active for many years as a volunteer fireman for the City of Mount Shasta and Hammond Ranch. He was always ready to help others in any capacity.ย Tom loved being in the outdoors, skiing, exploring the Eddy mountains, swimming at South Fork, beach walking on the Oregon Coast, and meandering the woods with his beloved dog Oakley.
The family invites Tom’s friends to join us for a Celebration of Life on October 11th, 2025 at 1:00 at the Mount Shasta City Park Upper Lodge. Please bring your favorite story to remember Tom.
