Thunderbirds to Headline Wings and Eagles Air Show at Kingsley Field

173rd Fighter Wing event celebrates F-15C/D legacy with weekend of aerial demonstrations

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. โ€” The skies above Klamath Falls will thunder with military precision this weekend as the 173rd Fighter Wing hosts its Wings and Eagles Air Show on July 19-20 at Kingsley Field.

The highly anticipated event will feature the U.S. Air Force’s premier aerial demonstration team, the Thunderbirds, alongside multiple military demonstration teams showcasing America’s cutting-edge aviation capabilities. This year’s show holds special significance as it celebrates the legendary F-15C/D Eagle fighter aircraft and its decades of air superiority.

“This event highlights the current U.S. military aviation capabilities to inspire the next generation of service members, aviators and innovators who will carry that legacy forward,” according to the 173rd Fighter Wing.

Star-Studded Lineup

Spectators can expect to see performances from:

  • U.S. Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron “Thunderbirds”
  • F-35A Lightning II Demonstration Team
  • West Coast F-18 Rhino Demo Team
  • KC-135 Demo Team
  • Additional civilian and military performers

The show will also feature static aircraft displays, ground exhibits, and local food vendors, making it a comprehensive celebration of aviation for all ages.

Planning Your Visit

Given the expected large crowds, organizers have implemented a comprehensive parking and transportation plan to ensure smooth access to the event.

Free Parking Options:

  • Primary parking in fields on Brett Way, adjacent to Homedale Road
  • Limited parking at Klamath County Fairgrounds
  • Additional parking at Imerys (former AquaGlass facility) off Washburn Way

Basin Transit Service will provide complimentary shuttle service from the Brett Way and fairgrounds parking areas starting at 7:30 a.m. both days. However, those parking at the Imerys location should plan for approximately a one-mile walk to the airshow entrance.

Security Guidelines

As Kingsley Field is an active military installation, strict security measures will be in place. Attendees should prepare for bag inspections and have official identification ready for entry.

Prohibited items include:

  • Large bags, backpacks, umbrellas, and coolers
  • Weapons, firearms, explosives
  • Alcohol, illegal drugs, cannabis products
  • Pets and drones

Small personal items such as purses, handbags, camera bags, and diaper bags are permitted but subject to inspection.
