All Poultry and Dairy Cattle Exhibits Banned from 2025 Siskiyou Golden Fair

April 25, 2025 YREKA- The 2025 Siskiyou Golden Fair, the 100^th at the fairground on Fairlane Road in Yreka, will be without the poultry and dairy cattle departments. In January 2025 the California State Veterinarian issued a statewide ban (until further notice) on all poultry and dairy cattle at fairs and shows due to the continued spread of H5N1 Avian Influenza (bird flu) among dairy herds and domestic poultry populations. 

The Siskiyou Golden Fair is disappointed to announce that the State announced that a waiver could be applied for but that the poultry and dairy exhibitors would have to show prior to or after the annual fair and follow stringent bio-security measures. With those requirements our fair is unable to meet the demands. We hope this ban will allow those industries that are affected to recover, and our exhibitors will return for the 2026 fair, June 24-28 in Yreka.
