April 25, 2025 YREKA- The 2025 Siskiyou Golden Fair, the 100th at the fairground on Fairlane Road in Yreka, will be without the poultry and dairy cattle departments. In January 2025 the California State Veterinarian issued a statewide ban (until further notice) on all poultry and dairy cattle at fairs and shows due to the continued spread of H5N1 Avian Influenza (bird flu) among dairy herds and domestic poultry populations.
