Jarman went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on April 11, 2025.
Jarman was born Martha Jarman East to Lonnie and Effie East on August 28, 1937 in Tulare County, CA. Her family moved to Chico in 1947 and she attended Chico schools where she graduated from Chico High School in 1955.
Jarman met the love of her life Robert Mudd at Chico State College and they married in July 1957. She graduated from Chico State in 1960 with a B.A. degree in Elementary Education.
They moved to Santa Clara in 1960 where she taught until 2000, putting in 40 years doing what she loved. In 2000 they moved to Mount Shasta, their dreams of retirement fulfilled.
Jarman was active in Delta Kappa Gamma (Gamma Nu Chapter), Altar Society of St. Anthony Catholic Church, and was a member of the Mercy Hospital Auxiliary for many years.
Her husband of 56 years precedes her in death. He passed away June 7, 2012.
She is survived by her three children; Dorothy, Linda, and Steve. She is also survived by six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Winnie Ramsey (John), and brother, Monty East (Judy) and her many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Funeral Mass will be held on April 25th at 1:00 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Mount Shasta. Rosary will precede Mass at 12:15 p.m. and Reverend Lester Menor will officiate.
A reception will follow Funeral Mass at St. Anthony Hall.
Burial will be at Mount Shasta Memorial Park. Jarman will be next to her beloved husband, Robert.
