Dunsmuir’s Easter Egg Hunt Drew Over 300 Children

The Dunsmuir Easter Egg Hunt drew over 300 children from throughout Shasta County to Weed and Klamath Falls on Easter Sunday afternoon.

Held in the Babe Ruth baseball field in Dunsmuir, the infield and outfield were divided into three different age groups ranging from 0 to 4, 5 to 8, and 9 to 12, to hunt for plastic eggs containing a variety of candy. It was a mad dash of children collecting eggs, which only took minutes before all five thousand-plus eggs were scooped up. After a short period when children got to open the eggs they gathered to see what candies they received, a raffle was held for them to win one of the many handmade baskets and gift bags containing fun items such as soccer and basketballs, crafts, toys, games, stuffed animals, bubble machines and more that were put together with thoughtfulness and love according to Amanda Linse and Jason Stout, who voluntarily coordinated this event along with help from their families. They also donated money to help purchase the gifts along with people from the Dunsmuir community, the Dunsmuir Rotary Club, the Eagles, and Solanoโ€™s, who donated 3 fishing poles and tackle boxes. There were also 6 bicycles to win, 2 for each age group.
