It is with great sadness that the family of Donna Lee Speer announces her passing. Donna, age 78, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2025 in Yreka. She was born on December 7, 1946.
Donna was a beacon of positivity and love throughout her life. She was deeply devoted to her family, friends and pets. Donna graduated from Yreka High School and spent an impressive 32 years working at Walmart. She was known for her kindness and dedication.
A true matriarch, Donna was an incredible mother who ensured her family was well cared for and happy. Donna is survived by her loving family: daughter Tina Smith, granddaughters Ashlie and Tanisha Smith; in-laws Crag Bubba Smith and Darryl McBride; and great grandchildren Aayden, Apollo and Nisha. She was preceded in death by her mom, Lois Beavers, step father Pete Peters, father John Stewart, sisters Alta Wright, Shirley Peschka and son Eric Speer.
A celebration of life will be held at the Rain Rock Casino Event Center in Yreka on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM, where loved ones will gather to honor her memory. Donna’s legacy of warmth, generosity, and unwavering positivity will forever be remembered by those who had the privilege to know her.
