Mary Ann Gould, 83, passed away on February 4, 2025, in Yreka, California, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on February 26, 1941, in Washington, Mary Ann’s life was filled with music and kindness. In the 1960s, she was a member of the professional music trio The Donettes, sharing her love of song with many. It was in 1961 at the Marin Town & Country Club in Marin, California, that she met the love of her life, Marvin. Together, they built a life in South San Francisco before moving to Siskiyou County in 1993.
Mary Ann dedicated her career to education, retiring from the Siskiyou County Office of Education. Even in retirement, she remained deeply involved in her community. She was a cherished member of the College of the Siskiyous Vocal Choir and the United Methodist Choir. Her passion for music extended beyond the stage, as she lent her voice to countless wedding ceremonies and community events.
Beyond music, Mary Ann gave generously of her time. She volunteered for 15 years with the Fairchild Auxiliary and was an active member of the ESA organization and Mu Phi Epsilon.
Above all, Mary Ann loved and cherished her family. She is survived by her sons, Mark and Matthew; her grandchildren, Melissa, Morgan, Mitchell, and Melanie; and her great-grandchildren, Ryder, Carter, Gunner, Bohdi, Remi, Andle, and Emilia; and nieces, Stephanie and Hillary. She is proceeded in death by her sister, Susan.
Mary Ann’s kindness, talent, and dedication to her family and community will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
