
YREKA, CA – The Siskiyou County Board of Supervisors began the new year with a swearing-in ceremony that welcomed a new face to the county’s governing body while reaffirming the commitment of two returning members.
In a ceremony held January 7th at the Siskiyou County Courthouse, newly elected District 1 Supervisor Jess Harris took the oath of office alongside re-elected incumbents Ed Valenzuela (District 2) and Nancy Ogren (District 4). The ceremony marked the start of Valenzuela’s fifth term and Ogren’s second term in office.
Following the swearing-in, the Board selected District 4 Supervisor Nancy Ogren to serve as Chair and District 5 Supervisor Ray A. Haupt as Vice Chair for 2025. These leadership positions are crucial in setting the Board’s agenda and guiding county governance throughout the year.
The current Board brings together a wealth of experience in county government. Supervisor Michael N. Kobseff, representing District 3, has served the county since 2007, while Vice Chair Haupt joined the Board in 2015. This mix of veteran leadership and fresh perspective positions the Board to address the diverse challenges facing Siskiyou County.
