Longtime Siskiyou County resident Leslie “Loretta” Ferguson passed away on November 22, 2024 in Yreka after a short illness. She was 82 years old.
Loretta was born on September 21, 1942 in Blythe, California to Leslie and Lucille Fitzpatrick. She and her mother and sisters owned and operated Lucy’s clothing store in the Bottling Works Mall in Yreka for many years. After Lucy’s closed, Loretta worked at Walmart. She enjoyed working in retail and interacting with the customers. Loretta was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and worked at the temple in Medford.
Loretta loved her flower garden, especially her violets. She enjoyed spending time outdoors. She was very adept at many crafts.
Loretta is survived by her husband, George “Leonard” Ferguson; three sons, Steve, Mike and Danny; her sister, Sue; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
