Siskiyou Golden Fair Moving to June in 2026

YREKA – The 10th District Agricultural Association Board of Directors meeting held Tuesday October 15th was held on site at the Beer Garden Pavilion. Item 12 on the agenda was the annual fair dates and the public was encouraged to attend the meeting to help determine the outcome of the board’s decision.

The crowd of about 60 people were strongly in favor of moving the fair dates to the end of June for 2026 and the Board listened to the pro and con comments before voting unanimously to approve the overwhelming sentiment of the attending crowd. Changes in State regulations and competition for all phases of the fair on our current dates outweighed the negative impacts that may occur with a date change.

For 2025, the annual fair will be held August 6-10 and as advertised it will be the 100th anniversary of the fairground that was purchased in 1925. The fairs in the 20’s and 30’s were held in September. The annual fair started in Fort Jones in 1859 and was held October 5th and 6th that year. The fair was moved to August to allow those that win at the county fair to be able to show at our California State Fair. Unfortunately, the state fair was moved to July several years ago which eliminated that opportunity for many.

The 2025 fair will be held August 6-10 in Yreka, and the annual Theme Contest is underway at this time – be a part of history and enter today! 6 words or less and include some reference to the 100th anniversary.
