Shasta County, CA – The Shasta County Probation Department, in coordination with local law enforcement, continues to seek the public’s assistance in locating three juveniles who escaped from the Shasta County Juvenile Rehabilitation Facility (JRF) on October 12, 2024, at approximately 6:57 p.m.
There is no additional information to share regarding these juveniles currently.
It is critical for members of the public to contact Shasta County Probation at (530) 225-5838 (JRF) or (530) 245-6247 if they have any information regarding the whereabouts of these individuals or information that may lead to their apprehension.
Shasta County Probation is now offering reward money for information leading to the apprehension of these juveniles.
• Up to $1,500 for information leading to the apprehension of Devon Peters who escaped the Shasta County Juvenile Rehabilitation Facility on 10/12/2024.
• Up to $1,000 for information leading to the apprehension of Matthew Rosser and Shawn Rider who escaped the Shasta County Juvenile Rehabilitation Facility on 10/12/2024.

The juveniles are also encouraged to surrender themselves by returning to the JRF, at any time.
Members of the public who see any of these juveniles are advised not to approach them for their own safety and to immediately contact law enforcement by calling 9-1-1.
The escaped juveniles are as follows:
Rider, Shawn: Male, 17 years old, Caucasian, 5’04” 140 lbs, Brown hair, blue eyes
Rosser, Matthew: Male, 17 Years old, Caucasian, Hazel eyes, Brown Hair, 6’0”, 165 lbs
Devon Peters Male, 17 years old, Caucasian, Brown Hair Blue eyes, 5’5”, 165 lbs
