Aesop’s Fables, or the Aesopica, is a collection of fables credited to Aesop, a slave and storyteller who lived in ancient Greece between 620 and 564 B.C.
During Spring Term 2024, Dr. John C. B. Petropoulos, an Adjunct Professor at the Saint Photios Orthodox Theological Seminary, presented a public lecture entitled, “Aesop’s Marvelous Menagerie.”
In this lecture, Dr. Petropoulos illustrates the history of fables, Aesopic tradition and its continued usage, as well as the many misconceptions about Aesop’s fables and Aesop himself.
