Brian Lysaght Power, age 80, of Fort Bragg, California passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at Grenada Gardens. Although Brian raised his kids in Montague, California, he spent most of his life in Arizona and always called it his home.

Brian was born on August 14, 1943 in Sonora, Mexico, to Thomas and Ida (Loan) Power. Brian married the love of his life, Judith K. Freeman, on June 1, 1968, and the couple have enjoyed the last 56+ years with each other.

Brian worked for nearly 45 years for the U.S. Forest Service in land management. More recently, he worked for FEMA on wildland fires. With FEMA, Brian would survey drop sites for smoke jumpers and supplies, and assist suppression efforts from aircraft and on the ground. Outside of work, Brian was an avid fisherman – his favorite catch being river trout and Pacific salmon. Brian’s favorite pastimes were fly fishing, skeet shooting, golfing, and hiking. Brian found peace and quiet solitude in the outdoors. Above all, Brian found true peace and happiness in the Bible from his diligent studies as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Brian is survived by his wife, Judith; his son Brian and daughter-in-law Michelle Power; son Kenneth Power; three grandchildren, Elise, Aiden and Emma and one great-granddaughter Cienna; and by a brother, Mike. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother Mark.

No services are scheduled for Brian at this time.
