The community is coming together to help a Mount Shasta Police K9 after he became sick following the National Night Out demonstrations. According to a GoFundMe page, K9 Artie was part of demonstrations for the public on Tuesday, and after returning home he suddenly started showing signs of “bloat” which required emergency surgery.
“The costs of Artie’s treatment are likely to meet or exceed 20,000 dollars. We kindly ask for whatever you may be able to provide to support our small K9 program at the City of Mount Shasta, which is primarily funded by our partner non-profit K9 association,” reads the fundraiser.
More than $14,000 has been raised to support K9 Artie. To view the GoFundMe, please visit: https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-k9-arties-lifesaving-surgery?cdn-cache=0
