Tony Alameda III Obituary
Tony Alexio Alameda III (Papa) passed peacefully on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at his home in Yreka. He was 70 years old.
Tony was born on June 15, 1953 in Fort Bragg, California to Tony and Julia (Marier) Alameda. His family moved to Montague in 1954. Tony graduated from Yreka High School in 1971. He worked for the Yreka Post Office for 38 years, making many friends along the way. He enjoyed competing in city league sports, with softball being his favorite. You could always talk him into a game of chess. He loved all sports and would bend any ear willing to listen to sports stats. Tony had a giving heart: if someone was in need, he would gladly give his last to help.
Tony is survived by his brothers and sisters: Alice Lycan of Yreka, Carol Ann Perkins of Montague, Stan Alameda of Kingman, Arizona, Eldon Alameda of Enterprise, Alabama, Patricia Layhew of Somerville, Alabama, and Bill Alameda of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; his two daughters, Amie Sanderson (James) and Monique George (Jon); four grandchildren, Kayla, James, Kira and Lexi. He was a great grandfather to Mia, Jazmin, Justin and Kinsley. Tony was preceded in death by his parents, brother Tommy Alameda, sister Ernestine Barff, and brother Fredrick Alameda.
