10th DAA Board of Directors selects 2023 Paint the Fair Winner
The 2023 Siskiyou Golden Fair theme “Siskiyou Nights and Carnival Lights” was submitted by Molly Bagley and selected by the Board of Directors at the January board meeting. The theme is used to set in motion the annual fair and since 2014 the fair has had an art contest that creates an artists interpretation of what that theme looks like.
This concept was used in the 1960’s and that artwork still hangs in the Siskiyou Golden Fair Office. The 2023 painting by Mother Barbara from Scott Valley’s Convent of Saint Elizabeth was selected by the Board of Directors at the April Meeting.
The artwork will be on the fair poster and on display during the fair. The winner each year receives the $500.00 first prize for their efforts.
The 2023 Siskiyou Golden Fair will run August 9-13 in Yreka. More information can be found on the fair website – www.sisqfair.com or by phone at 530-842-2767.
