
The judges awarded Ethan Knechtle, of Etna High School, the first prize of $1,000 for his speech on music education in public schools at Wednesday evening’s Rotary Speech Contest.
Cassie Cash of Yreka High School, was awarded $500 for her second place speech on agriculture awareness
Natalia Sherman of Etna High School, gave an excellent speech about high school culture and fit-for-purpose learning.
The Yreka and Montague Rotary Clubs also contributed to the prize fund. Congratulations to all, and best of luck to Ethan as he progresses to the District level contest in May.
