Jay and I had the pleasure of visiting with Scott Valley native Dorothy Pitts Butler and her nephew Larry Maplesden. Dorothy was born, raised and raised her family in Scott Valley. She turned 102 years old this past year (2022). It was such a joy to spend the afternoon with Dorothy listening to stories of her fruitful life in Scott Valley and her wisdom for a long happy and healthy life. Dorothy is truly a Scott Valley pioneer. I hope you enjoy this video as much as we enjoyed spending time with her.
*Note- The Etna High School was held above the Denny Bar Store in 1892 which predates when Dorothy’s mother would have been of high school age. Dorothy is sharp as a tack otherwise.
