Elias Samuel Bullington, was released after serving an undisclosed sentence in the CDCR – Valley State Prison (VSP), located in Chowchilla,CA. Public record only says that he was convicted of felony/misdemeanor.
Initially he was charged in the murder of 62 year old Henry S. Cooper Jr whose body was discovered on July 9th of 2013. He was also a suspect in the homicide of 43 year old Christopher Schaffer, whose skeletal remains were found partially submerged on November 23, 2012 at Yreka Creek. However police did not have enough evidence to convict him of that crime.
The probation department was not aware of his release and so was not able to notify the Yreka Police Department of his presence in the area.
Friday July 22nd, 2022
YPD responded to a call at 10:15 involving a female that was attacked and choked.
From my understanding and information gathered Bullington was booked then released due to over crowding in the jail.
Saturday JULY 23rd, 2022
At 1358 he then stabbed a person at Gold Rush Coffee. YPD then detained him again with a confrontation involving 5 deputies resulting in 24 felony assault charges.
