The rain stopped just in time for the town of McCloud to hold its annual Halloween Pub Crawl on Saturday night. Costumed people walked to the American Legion Post 92 on Broadway Ave. to party and dance to live music starting at 4pm with the popular local act Jimmy Limo, and later in the evening Wildwoman Sound DJ who kept the party going until late. There were scary looking pumpkin jello shots and also jello shots in syringes which added to the flavor of the season, but the Legion also served some hearty food like buffalo hotdogs and chili. And, of course, there was a costume contest. It was a fun but scary looking evening as witches mingled with monsters.
The McCloud RV Park held its annual Halloween party and poker run which drew people from as far as Oregon, Washington, and even Colorado to stay and play over the weekend. This was the fifth year filling up the park with campers competing for the scariest camp decorations and then later in the evening, the costume contest. The poker run had seven bar stops and winners of the run received a free weekend stay, and the top three winners got to divide the big payoff of $1,500.

The Ryker Dillan Band from Yreka kept people dancing all night under the outdoor covered stage surrounded by campfires. Owners Tammy and Warren estimated about 300 people attended. They had three food trucks, and beer and wine which were free. It was also kid friendly

Now that the adult Halloween night has happened, the town of McCloud will now gear up for children to have their fun Halloween night of Trunk or Treat.
