Born July 5, 1930 in Etna, Earlene May Hiett McBroom passed away on May 18, 2025 in Medford, Oregon. Earlene was preceded in death by her husband Henry Chester McBroom. She is survived by her five children: Glenn, Dean (Kathy), Sally (Deano), Clint (Sophia) & Mitzi; a sister, Jane Lord, and a brother, EJ Hiett. Also, many grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren.
She spent most of her married life on the Salmon River hunting, fishing, quilting, pie making and playing piano. She played the piano by ear, wrote many songs and played for many dances, sometimes with the piano in the back of a pickup. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 30 at 11:00 a.m. at the Etna Cemetery, with a luncheon reception to follow at the LDS Church in Etna.
