Lucky Miller’s Bar and Grill: The New Fun Place in Dunsmuir

A new one-of-a-kind, fun place for those who like fantastic food, fun entertainment, or just a good evening out with a great atmosphere; Lucky Millerโ€™s Bar and Grill just opened in Dunsmuir.

The proprietor, Jason Miller, has been in the business since 1995 and comes from a family that owned similar small ventures with 29 years of family recipes being perfected through the years.  He has learned the value of his employees and the value of money. He converted this into a pub-like place in just 26 days. It had no kitchen. Along the way, he met Cody Olson who helped with the reconstruction, and learned he is also a chef.

Miller says, โ€œWe have some prodigies here working here. People love our bar girls. Cody Olson is not just a chef, but an artist. He is very consistent and is committed that every condiment is tasted in every bite of each sandwich.  Our fast food isnโ€™t fast food. Our food is phenomenal. Our tri-tip and pastrami from New York are our signature food. We are taking this up to the top level. We will also be serving Sunday brunch.โ€

Very soon they will have live music by local bands and bands traveling through town.  He started with 5 employees but is already building. Lucky Millerโ€™s Bar and Grill opened on October 10th, and the place has been packed each evening. His Redding crowd has followed him here to Dunsmuir to see if this new place is just as good.

His Redding store, Lucky Millerโ€™s Deli and Market was such a huge success, that he is planning to make Lucky Millerโ€™s into a franchise. He will be selling his specialty sauces in local stores.

Britany Dickerson was killing it on her first night working as a bartender. โ€œI love the crowd and the girls I’m working with are super cool.โ€  It was hard to tell who was having the best time as the staff laughed just as much with the guests while visiting throughout the evening.

Being community-oriented, the Lucky Miller will have fun and game nights backing the service industry, including firefighters and first responders. In the past, he has had great success with big draws of people coming for special fun nights of storytelling, helium balloon karaoke, music and dancing, and more.

โ€œI love this business,โ€ says Miller. Who came up with the name โ€œLucky Millerโ€ as it was his nickname during his years in motorcycle racing. โ€œI also love Dunsmuir. We had a killer first week. We are developing specialty and custom cocktails.  I want this place to be the โ€˜Cheersโ€™ of Dunsmuir.โ€

Back to the food at Lucky Millerโ€™s Bar and Grill: The food has a brew pub feeling to it. There are lots of great meat choices but also vegetarian choices.  Lucky Millersโ€™ Famous Burgers is the only place in town where one can choose between beef, elk, bison, chicken, and grilled eggplant.  The burger recipe comes from his grandmother along with some of the house-made sauces.

They have already received a 5-star Yelp review in their first week. The Reddingโ€™s Lucky Millerโ€™s has numerousraving reviews. Biff from Petaluma, Ca. says that it was the best prime rib he has ever had.  Rosetta from Redondo Beach, says that the food is โ€œbonkers goodโ€, and they always hit the Reddingโ€™s Lucky Millerโ€™s Deli and Market when they are traveling through.

Located at 5841 Dunsmuir Avenue, in the heart of the downtown area, Lucky Millerโ€™s Bar and Grill is open Tuesday through Sunday from 3 pm to 1 am with the kitchen closing at 9 pm except on Saturday and Sunday it will stay open until 10 pm.
