Working Man
You work all day for a dollar, and you get nothing but pain.
And you would like to quit, but the dollars that you get lets you live without shame.
You drag out of bed in the morning still tiered from the day before.
But your boss doesn’t care about how you fare he just wants you to give him more.
So, let’s hear a song about a working man.
Struggling to get by anyway he can.
He never has enough to make ends meet.
He’s just trying to keep shoes on his children’s feet.
You work hard all day for not enough pay, but still, you have to stay.
And endure the abuse because no one cares about anything you say.
Your boss is mean and you want to scream and tell him how you feel.
But you can’t complain because your family’s needs are real.
So, let’s hear a song about a working man.
Struggling to get by anyway he can.
He never has enough to make ends meet.
He’s just trying to buy his family enough to eat.
You drag it home late in the evening, still tired from your long hard day.
And you would like to quit, but you need to get some more of that monthly pay.
You earn your way from beginning to end by working your whole life through.
And your only regret is that for all your sweat you never owned anything new.
So, let’s hear a song about a working man.
Struggling to get by anyway he can.
He never had enough to make ends meet.
But his pride wouldn’t let him admit defeat.
