Sisq Writers’ Club: Poem – “Blind Musician”

Blind Musician

He sits on the street corner not seeing a thing.
He just plays music on his guitar and sings.

He’s a part of the corner just like the street sign.
But people only know him as the man that is blind.

For the sound of a plink in his bowl.
He can sing you a song that will touch your soul.

With music for a canvas and words for a brush.
His paintings are clear and tell us so much.

In a voice that is so strong and clean
You can hear the vision in a blind man’s dream.

When he is gone, there is no one who will care.
Except a lonely street corner that is now empty and bare.

Though his possessions are meager and few he has more than the rest of us.
He has a pure heart, a love for his art, and plinks that pay him just enough.
