It was a productive week for local marijuana cultivators, at least until it wasn’t. Four individuals — all of Asian descent and Hmong-speaking, according to booking notes — were arrested at or near a property in the Weed area on charges of cultivating six or more marijuana plants and possession for sale. Whether the county’s quiet hills are greening up for spring is a matter of perspective.
Balcer, Cody Jon, 27, of Jacksonville, Fla., was booked March 18 by the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office on a Civil Grand Jury indictment charging felony marijuana transportation/sale and willful attempt to evade or defeat payment. He self-surrendered to the jail lobby. Bail: $20,000.
Beals, Michael Allen Sr., 46, of Happy Camp, was booked four times between March 17 and March 20. On March 17 he was arrested by SCSO at Yreka Motors on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, trespass, and resisting/obstructing a peace officer. On March 18 he was arrested by the District Attorney’s office at 116 Oakview Court on contempt of court and resisting/obstructing a peace officer. He was booked again March 19 at 116 Oakview Court on a fresh contempt charge, and again March 20 in Yreka on another contempt charge, with a court date of March 23.
Bussell, Timberline Rose, 34, of Weed, was booked March 16 by SCSO on a felony bench warrant for failure to appear on a felony charge, originating with CHP. Bail: $7,500. She was released the same day.
Carl, Jacob Allan, 28, of Yreka, was arrested March 22 by the Yreka Police Department at Bargain Liquors on charges of felony probation violation, destruction/concealment of evidence, resisting/obstructing a peace officer, and a felony bench warrant for failure to appear.
Coombs, Joshua David, 41, of Yreka, was arrested March 21 by YPD at 400 N. Foothill Drive, Apt. 219, on charges of felony burglary, felony probation violation, and felony conspiracy to commit a crime.
Cross, Jenna Michelle, 18, of Dunsmuir, was booked March 20 by SCSO on a charge of disorderly conduct/alcohol. She was released the following day.
Cruz, Julian Jr., 37, of Yreka, was arrested March 21 by YPD at 400 N. Foothill Drive, Apt. 219 — the same address as Coombs — on charges of felony burglary and felony conspiracy to commit a crime. Bail: $50,000.
Davis, Tony Edward, 39, of Mt. Shasta, was arrested March 21 by the Weed Police Department at a location listed as “Boles” on charges of manufacturing/sale of a leaded cane (felony), possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, DUI any drug, unlawful possession/use of tear gas (felony), hit and run with property damage, and two counts of failure to appear after written promise. Bail included $20,000 on the tear gas charge. He was booked and released the same day.
Dominguez, Maria, 28, of Salem, Ore., was booked March 20 by CHP Mt. Shasta on charges of DUI alcohol and DUI alcohol/0.08 percent, following an arrest near Castle on March 19. She was released the same day.
Ellis, Patti Ann, 54, of Weed, was arrested March 22 by CHP Mt. Shasta northbound on Highway 97 south of Angel Valley on charges of DUI alcohol, DUI alcohol/0.08 percent, and felony possession of a stolen vehicle, the latter stemming from a Shasta County Superior Court warrant. Bail: $10,000 on the stolen vehicle charge. She was released March 23.
Fragua, Joseph Richard, 61, of Fort Jones, was arrested March 19 by YPD on a charge of disorderly conduct/intoxication by drugs and alcohol. He was booked and released March 20.
Godoy-Cerrato, Oscar Daniel, 20, of Oakland, was arrested March 20 by SCSO at the northbound Interstate 5 Weed rest area on charges of possession of a narcotic controlled substance and driving without a license. He was booked and released the same day.
Gunther, Phillip Cameron, 23, of Weed, was arrested March 22 by SCSO on Gazelle Callahan Road on a charge of disorderly conduct/alcohol. He was booked and released the same day.
Hall, Daniel Joseph, 40, of Yreka, was booked March 19 after being transported from Tacoma, Wash., on a felony parole violation warrant from CDCR Sacramento and a felony bench warrant from Siskiyou Superior Court.
Hardegger, Breanna Christine, 38, of Veneta, Ore., was arrested March 18 by CHP Yreka on northbound Interstate 5 on a charge of DUI any drug. She was released March 19.
Harrison, Justin Carl Jr., 43, of Happy Camp, was booked March 19 by parole officers on a felony parole violation, arrested on Bruce Street.
Hayes, Amanda Rachelle, 36, of Yreka, was booked March 18 by SCSO at the jail lobby on charges including felony possession of a narcotic controlled substance, second-degree felony burglary, possession of personal identifying information with intent to defraud, possession of burglary tools, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, destruction/concealment of evidence, and resisting/obstructing a peace officer. All charges stem from Siskiyou Superior Court case 25CF13539. Bail: $20,000 on the burglary charge. She was released the same day.
Howell, Christopher Andrew, 47, of Montague, was arrested March 20 by YPD at Bargain Liquor on charges of disorderly conduct/alcohol and three separate counts of failure to appear after written promise, each carrying $2,000 bail. Total bail: $6,000.
Jones, Daryl Parker, 28, of Yreka, was arrested March 19 by CHP Yreka on Oberlin Road on charges of felony bringing drugs/alcohol into a jail or prison, DUI alcohol, DUI alcohol/0.08 percent, and failure to appear. Bail: $20,000 on the jail contraband charge.
Knight, Ronald John, 63, of Dunsmuir, was arrested March 17 by SCSO in Dunsmuir on three separate failure-to-appear warrants, each carrying $5,000 bail, all from Siskiyou Superior Court. He was booked March 18 and released the same day.
Larsen, Michael Dean, 65, was arrested March 22 by CHP Mt. Shasta on U.S. Highway 97 south of Carrick on charges of DUI alcohol, DUI alcohol/0.08 percent, and hit-and-run with property damage. He was released March 23.
Lee, Chou, 64, of Brooklyn Park, Minn., was arrested March 19 by SCSO at Vistas on charges of cultivating six or more marijuana plants and possession of marijuana for sale. She was booked and released the same day.
