It was a busy week at the Siskiyou County Jail. One Yreka man apparently didn’t get the message the first time — booked and released Monday, he was back in cuffs Tuesday night at a local farm supply store on burglary charges. Another checked in with nine outstanding failure-to-appear warrants, suggesting court dates have become something of a suggestion in certain circles. Out on northbound I-5, Weed Police stopped two separate vehicles within 31 minutes of each other in the dead of night — different drivers, same highway, same drug trafficking charges, same $50,000 bail. And in perhaps the week’s most ill-advised errand, a Hornbrook man showed up to his probation check-in at the Day Reporting Center allegedly carrying a ballistic knife and drugs he’d reportedly planned to smuggle into the jail — and left in handcuffs. The full booking report for the period of March 9–16 follows below.
All persons listed are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Charges are allegations only.
