EHS wrestling is bring their season to a close with a strong performance at the end of the year

On Feb 14th, Divisions were held at Paradise HS in Paradise. Kate Early (107), Arabelle Starr (132), and Shelby Martin (157) all finished second. Carmie Downey (147) took 4th; all girls secured a spot to compete at the Master tournament the following weekend.

From the boys side Theran Isbell (167) took 3rd, Blake Hansen (152) placed 4th, Ian Shelton (159) and Aiden Beal (128) placed 5th, all securing a spot to compete at Masters. Kale Facey (177) placed 6th, securing a spot as an alternate at Masters at Las Plumas HS in Oroville. Both teams (girls and boys) took first place in the team tournament.

2026 Lady Lions Wrestling Team

This past weekend Kate Early (107) had a stellar performance racking up 3 wins to take first place at Masters and move on to the State tournament. She had a bye the first round, then won by 14-9 decision in the Quarterfinals, 6-5 decision in the Semifinals, and 15-12 decision in the Finals. Shelby Martin (157) placed 6th. Kate will be competing in Bakersfield next weekend.

2026 Etna High School boys wrestling team

From Yreka HS, Noah Mannix (217) had an outstanding performance and took 2nd. He will be going to State next weekend in Bakersfield. In the first round he won by 3-0 decision, in the Quarters he won by 3-0 decision, and in the Semis he won by 3-1 decision. In the finals he lost 7-12. Noah came back to defend his spot in a true second place match.
