Spring 2026 Wildfire Prevention Blitz

Schedule a visit from Six Rivers National Forest

Eureka, CA., February 13, 2026—Sign up now and be part of the Six Rivers National Forest’s Spring 2026 Wildfire Prevention Blitz and help stop human-caused wildfires before they start!

The public plays a vital role in preventing wildfires. Human-caused wildfires comprised 89% of all wildfire occurrences in 2025, per the National Interagency Fire Center. Most of these fires can be prevented.

Preventable wildfires threaten lives, property, and precious natural resources. Whether it is properly extinguishing a campfire or keeping your vehicle maintained to prevent sparks, following just a few simple steps can help prevent wildfires.

The Six Rivers National Forest Fire Prevention Team has developed several in-person offerings for local schools to help share the important message of wildfire prevention. These offerings are available from mid-April to mid-May to spread the message far and wide before fire season begins. The team is based out of Eureka, California and can serve the greater Eureka area and neighboring coastal towns.

If you’re located outside of this area, please contact your local Ranger District Office for prevention offerings near you, click here for contact information.
