“Given the significant fire history in this area, we immediately requested major augmentation of state and local resources,” officials said in a statement. The response came as temperatures climbed to 73 degrees with relative humidity at 42 percent, creating conditions ripe for fire spread.

The massive response involved 16 engines, six water tenders, two ladder trucks, and more than 10 overhead personnel. CAL FIRE deployed both air and ground resources, including one air attack platform, two air tankers, and two helicopters to combat the blaze from above.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
