WEED, Calif. — Weed High School has secured $5,000 as one of nine California schools awarded through T-Mobile’s Friday Night 5G Lights program, a nationwide initiative supporting small-town high school football. The $5,000 will enhance the school’s sports facilities, but the bigger goal is the $1 million grand prize for a complete field tech upgrade, including a renovated weight room and a trip to the SEC Championship.
