
Daniel James Stewart
April 18, 1942 – August 8, 2025
Daniel passed away at home surrounded by family, on August 8th at 11:11 pm – after battling cancer.
He was born in Tacoma Washington to John Iverson Stewart and Rozella Leora Taylor Stewart, and was the middle child of nine siblings.
He married Kathryn Irene Mullin June 28, 1963. They were married 62 years and raised 3 children in Scott Valley.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, 5 sisters and nephew Kenny Stewart.
He is survived by his sister Sally Godsey of Bristol, Tennessee; Daughter Yvonne Knight & husband Dean of Idaho; Son Dennis Stewart in Etna, and Son Alan Stewart & wife Amber, Fort Jones; 7 grandkids, 10 great grandkids, 7 nephews and 8 nieces.
Dan worked in the logging industry for 53 years before retirement, and was well known for operating High Lead Yarders, Road building and cat logging. The legacy he left his family, will live on through his work ethic, hunting and fishing skills- all accomplished with his quick wit and humor.
He had a passion for ice cream, working puzzles, and being with his grandchildren.
A private service was held Tuesday August 12th.
Rest in peace, Daniel James Stewart. Your memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved you.
