Longtime Hornbrook resident David Glen Stratton passed away on July 7, 2025 at his home. He was 70 years old.
Known as โthe mechanic in the wheelchairโ, David loved to help people with anything, especially cars. Whether they were family, friends of someone stranded, he was there to help. His love was endless. He is now fixing things in Heaven with his dad, brother Bill, nephew Bobby, and his mom watching and waiting. He will truly be missed by many, loved by many more, and never forgotten by anyone who ever met him.
David is survived by his wife of 45 years, Fran Stratton of Hornbrook; his children: Dawn Wilson (John) of Yreka, Sherry Cody (Ralph) of Bullhead City, Arizona, David Stratton Jr. (Kristy) of Gerber, Sonya Ann Stratton of Hornbrook, and Richard Stratton (Ruthie) of Redding; Kathy Cheney (Ron) of Beaumont, and Tommy Stratton of Yreka, who he helped raise; his brothers Tom Stratton (Pat) of Yreka and Steve Stratton of Riverside; his sisters, Debbie Hodson (Garrett) of Temecula, Cheryl Brown (Ken) of Yelm, Washington, and Pam Sneed (Bill) of Wichenburg, Arizona; 21 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and a lot of nieces and nephews, grand and great grands.
A Celebration of Life pot luck will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the Karuk Tribe Housing Authority, 1836 Apsuun in Yreka.
