10th DAA selects Dan Freitas for Golden Pass

Dan has supported the fair for more than 30 years, hauling auction livestock, supporting the sale, and partnering with the fair rodeo and other events.

YREKA- The 10th District Agricultural Association Board of Directors is happy to announce a Lifetime Pass will be presented to Dan Freitas of Montague. The pass will be given at the 100th Anniversary celebration of the Siskiyou Golden Fairgrounds on August 6th at the 2025 opening ceremonies of the annual fair. 

Dan has supported the fair for more than 30 years, hauling auction livestock, supporting the sale, and partnering with the fair rodeo and other events. โ€œOur fair and community has long benefited from the support that Dan has given us,โ€ stated CEO Cliff Munson, โ€œDan is a great example of the dedication it takes to make our fair successful.โ€ 

Dan and Mary, his wife, support many organizations in the community; FFA, Cattlemenโ€™s and Cattlewomenโ€™s events and most sporting events where their grandchildren participate. They have three children, Carrie, Amy and Jason along with 6 grandchildren that have all been active at their fairs. 

Organizations like the Siskiyou Golden Fair thrive because of community minded individuals that get involved for the good of all and Dan has been a golden example of quietly serving the community for more than 30 years.ย  โ€œIt takes the whole community to make our fairground thrive year-round,โ€ stated CEO, Cliff Munson, โ€œFor more than 30 years Dan has answered the call to support our cause.โ€ย 

Join Dan and the community at the flagpole at 5:00 pm on opening night as Dan is presented with the Lifetime pass award. Come celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Siskiyou Golden Fairground with Dan and his family as we kick off โ€œ100 Years Past, Always a Blastโ€ the 2025 Siskiyou Golden Fair.
