About the Headliner: Chancey Williams

Chancey Williams represents the authentic cowboy spirit of country music, having made the remarkable transition from saddle bronc athlete to neo-traditional country music sensation. The northeastern Wyoming native holds the unique distinction of being one of only two artists (alongside the legendary Chris LeDoux) to both compete in rodeo and perform on the main stage at Cheyenne Frontier Days. Williams is also the only singer/songwriter to be endorsed by CINCHยฎ.

Williams has shared stages with country music’s biggest names, opening for Toby Keith, Cody Johnson, Alan Jackson, Dierks Bentley, and Parker McCollum. His impressive performance rรฉsumรฉ includes sold-out shows at the iconic Ryman Auditorium and Red Rocks Amphitheatre, headlining performances at The National Finals Rodeo, and multiple appearances at the Grand Ole Opry.

“For us, it’s been a long journey of playing against what was popular in country music, but we just stayed the course,” Williams told People Magazine about maintaining his authentic western roots. His dedication to representing the cowboy lifestyle in its truest form has found its moment in Nashville’s country scene, as demonstrated by his latest release, the sixth studio album “One of These Days.”

The album has received rave reviews from major publications including People, Billboard, Taste of Country, Whiskey Riff, and Holler. Saving Country Music praised the work, stating, “If we could wave a magic wand and instantly remake mainstream country music into something much better than what it is today, Chancey Williams and his new album One of These Days would not be a bad wish at all.”

People Magazine declared, “The time has finally come for Chancey Williams. Cowboys are cool again!”

Opening Act: Ben Haggard

Adding local significance to this historic concert, Ben Haggard brings both star power and regional connection as a Shasta County native and the talented son of country music icon Merle Haggard. Ben served as lead guitarist in his father’s legendary band, The Strangers, for eight years starting at age 15, performing alongside seasoned veterans and sharing stages with country music royalty.

His impressive performance history includes memorable appearances with the Highwaymen (Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson) and Blake Shelton at the 2014 Grammys, the 2012 “All for the Hall” show with Vince Gill and Keith Urban, and backing Toby Keith for a nationally televised Merle Haggard tribute. Ben has also contributed to tribute albums featuring major artists like Jason Aldean, Jake Owen, Luke Bryan, and Dierks Bentley.

Following his father’s passing, Ben has taken on the responsibility of carrying forward the Haggard musical legacy while developing his own artistic identity. His performances of classics like “Sing Me Back Home,” “Workin’ Man Blues,” and “What Am I Gonna Do With the Rest of My Life?” bring fresh interpretations while honoring his father’s profound musical contributions.
