Urijah David RedHawk Potter, our shining star and beloved warrior, passed away on April 27, 2025.

Born on December 23, 2023, Urijah embodied the essence of love and light, illuminating the lives of his family, friends, and the community. He cherished his parents, siblings, grandparents, many aunts, uncles, and cousins, spreading joy and warmth wherever he went. He loved music, dancing, and playing with his drum and piano. A water baby at heart, Urijah loved rivers, lakes, oceans, and his “splish-splash” (bath time). Urijah loved new adventures and exploring. His chunky cheeks, captivating one-dimple smile, and sweet laughter left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who met him. Urijah loved everything from Sesame Street to his cars, trucks, dinosaurs, playing Peek-A-Boo and catch.

Though his journey was cut short by Neuroblastoma, a rare childhood cancer diagnosed in October 2024, Urijah’s spirit remained unbroken, inspiring strength and resilience in those around him. Until we meet our brave warrior again, we take comfort in the knowledge that his love, light, and legacy will continue to touch hearts and inspire hope. May his shining spirit continue to radiate strength and guidance.

Urijah is survived by his parents, Cody Potter and Kailee Beck; his siblings Cassidy-Rae Smith, Josiah, Nakima, and Ila Potter; grandmothers Alisha Beck and Jennifer VonBrant; uncles Cedrick Potter, Dylan Beck, Richard Grant; aunts Aariana Nelson and Mekayla Beck.

As Urijah embarks on his next journey, he will be reunited with our creator and many loved ones, leaving behind a trail of limitless love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Urijah’s celebration of life will be held on May 24, 2025 at the Karuk Tribal Housing Authority, 1836 Apsuun Rd in Yreka, starting at 3 pm.
